Hardware Wallet - Ledger Nano S

Hardware wallets refer to "physical wallets," such as USB sticks or external devices, where cryptocurrencies can be stored.

In particular, we will talk about Ledger Nano S, the simplest and most affordable option.

The Ledger Nano S hardware wallet is a USB device for receiving and sending coins. It's an excellent tool that allows us to have control over our coins and is certainly the safest and

most practical wallet of all.

Sensitive operations are isolated within your hardware wallet inside an advanced Secure Element, protected by a PIN code.

Transactions cannot be tampered with; they are physically verified on the integrated screen with a simple press of a button.

Therefore, no one can access your coins unless they have the device in hand and know your PIN code.

We recommend getting one if you're making an investment or if you've reached a good amount of cryptocurrency. It will cost only €79 + shipping costs.

Getting Started: Creating a Wallet on Ledger Nano S

  • First, connect the Ledger to your computer using the provided cable.

  • The message "Welcome" will appear on the Ledger display; press both buttons together to continue.

  • You will be prompted to create a new wallet or restore an existing one. Choose "new" if it's your first time creating one.

  • Now, you will be asked to create your PIN to unlock the Ledger (use the buttons to select numbers and set the PIN).

  • Next, you'll need to set up your recovery key. Write down a series of 24 words on the provided sheet in the box.

IMPORTANT: These 24 words will be needed in case of loss, breakage, or malfunction of the Ledger. With these 24 words, we'll be able to recover our wallet, so they are of vital importance. (Keep the sheet in a secure place where only you know).

  • Now that we have set up our Ledger correctly, we are ready to deposit or send our coins.

  • Now, go to the official Ledger website and download Ledger Live.

  • Once done, we can connect our wallet by entering the PIN and then viewing the wallet on PC, Android, or iOS.
